SEA Surf Coach

Job Description

SEA is seeking high energy, charismatic Surf Coaches to teach surfing to our clients and to ensure superb customer experiences. Applicants must enjoy working with a variety of different people and handle themselves with confidence in a dynamic and fast paced environment. In the role of Surf Coach you will be knowledgeable in all SEA programs, lessons and curriculum and will work with the Operations Manager and Executive Director to further develop your coaching skills and to help improve our programs. Experience teaching surfing is taken into consideration, but not required. Training will be provided.

Responsibilities

As follows, but not limited to:

●  Coaching/Teaching surfing as scheduled

●  Ensuring the safety of all clients in your care

●  Having a high level of stoke and enthusiasm

●  Assisting with set up and break down as needed

●  Working to improve programs, offerings and experiences

●  Upskilling coaching and instructing skills through training and resources

Requirements

●  MUST HAVE OR OBTAIN: CPR+First Aid Certification and Water Safety Certification

●  Competent and knowledgeable about surfing technique, culture, history, etiquette, etc.

●  Excellent confidence swimming and in the ocean

●  Outstanding customer service skills

●  Positive attitude always. No bad vibes

●  Great decision making skills

●  Ability to follow protocols and systems in place

●  Physical requirements: 􏰐 moderate lifting 􏰐up to 50 lbs at a time􏰐, energy and stamina required as this is a highly physical position

Time and Compensation

This position is part time, with the potential to grow to full time. Compensation is paid hourly and the position is nonexempt. Starting compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
